NAMED: Toby Rogers has been named dean of the B. Ward Lane College of Professional Studies at Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas. Christian Home & Bible School in Mount Dora, Fla., has named Dennis Cardoso as its head football coach. Lipscomb University’s 2013 Alumnus of the Year is Jeff Whitehorn. Whitehorn is chief executive officer of Nashville’s TriStar Summit Medical Center. He also serves as a deacon at the Brentwood Hills Church of Christ in Nashville, Tenn. Oklahoma Christian Academy in Edmond, Okla., has named Robert Gregg as its head boy’s basketball coach. Gregg brings 13 years of coaching experience in various roles to the position.
HONORED: Essie Childers has been elected vice president of the Texas Community College Teachers Association. Childers attends the A&M Church of Christ in College Station, Texas. Gerald Paden was recognized for 41 years of teaching at Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, Texas.
AWARDED: Lipscomb University history chair and LIFE program founder Richard Goode has been awarded the Mary Morris Award for exemplary spirit of service to the community.
