Sept. 11 victim’s wife, daughters mark fifth anniversary

Deena Burnett, wife of Pepperdine University alumnus Tom Burnett, and her daughters lay a wreath of remembrance near the edge of the Heroes Garden reflection pool at the Church of Christ university in Malibu, Calif. The ceremony marked the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Tom Burnett died in the crash of United Airlines Flight 93. The day of remembrance began with Pepperdine President Andy Benton leading a prayer service in Stauffer Chapel.
