Ralph and Ruth Wilson, 70th Anniversary
Ruth Turner Wilson was born in Kentucky and Ralph in Texas. They met while Ruth was attending George Pepperdine College in Los Angeles, and Ralph was in the U.S. Navy.
They were married in Berkeley, Calif., on Feb. 15, 1946. Ralph was attending Cal State Berkeley with studies in architecture and real estate. Ruth worked in real estate while Ralph also built several church buildings and apartment complexes before they retired and moved to east Texas in 1990.
The Wilsons have three sons: Gary (deceased), John and Jeff. John and his wife Carolyne live in Tahoka, Texas, where he serves as an elder. John is a building contractor, and Carolylne is a teacher. Jeff and his wife, Laura Lee, live in Wilkesboro, N.C. Jeff is retired and leads singing for his congregation, and Laura Lee has a medical practice in Wilkesboro. Ralph and Ruth have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Ralph is 95 years old, and Ruth is 89. Both have been Christians since their early teenage years, and both are still active, loving, dedicated and generous members of Christ’s Church. Their work and generosity for the Lord’s church continues with support for mission work in Ghana, distribution of Bibles and special needs for the local and area congregations.
