Get a video iPod … earn a master’s degree
ABILENE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY
Now, owners of Apple video iPods can do more than download their favorite TV shows or music videos.
Abilene Christian University in Texas is taking advantage of the technology to launch ACU WorldWide, a new program that will offer two master’s degrees online.
Students will use video iPods to download and access study materials at their convenience, said Gary Tucker, ACU’s director of distance education.
“Readings can be downloaded to the iPod and students can listen to the readings and view videos anywhere they can use an iPod,” Tucker said.
“Working with an iPod like this puts us in the forefront of educational trends, especially in the distance learning environment.”
ACU WorldWide will offer a master of education in leadership of learning and a master of arts in conflict resolution and reconciliation.
Completing the master of education will cost $15,000, which covers tuition, fees, all textbooks, course materials and the video iPod. The price tag fo the master of arts will be $20,000.
