Oklahoma church installs first elders
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. — Gary Jones Sr., at left with his wife, Deborah, and Jack Reynolds, at right with his wife, Anita, are installed as elders of the 175-member East Side Church of Christ in Oklahoma City. The two men are the first elders in the congregation’s history of nearly 50 years. The churches have cooperated in “United in Christ,” an effort to encourage unity and fellowship among predominantly black and predominantly white congregations in Oklahoma.
The East Side church also installed deacons Gary Jones Jr., Thomas McNeely Sr., Charles Greene, Ken Robinson Jr. and associate ministers DeMarcco Owens and Julian Cruz.
