RECOGNIZED: Clifton Ganus, chancellor of Harding University in Searcy, Ark., with the establishment of the Clifton L. Ganus Jr. Distinguished Chair of History and Political Science by the College of Arts and Humanities.

Clifton and Louis Ganus were honored by Harding University, where they married after he graduated in 1943.
RETIRING: SummersCol. Michael Waymon Summers, as state chaplain for the Georgia National Guard. He is the pulpit minister for the Leavenworth Church of Christ in Kansas. Don S. Dickerson Jr., preacher for the Gainesville Church of Christ in Florida.

HONORED: Parker LaMascus, a mechancial engineering major at Oklahoma Christian University, as the university’s first Barry Goldwater Scholar. The scholarship is the nation’s premier undergraduate award of its type in mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering. LaMascus is a member of the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Oklahoma City.

APPOINTED: WilliamsKerry Williams, as dean of graduate studies at Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, Texas.
