NAMED: Lydia Lenker, executive-in-residence at Lipscomb University’s Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership in Nashville, Tenn. Lenker was press secretary to former Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen.
CONGRATULATIONS: David Walton signed a one-year contract with renowned Minneapolis-based a cappella singing group Cantus. Walton is a graduate of Harding University in Searcy, Ark. Algene Steele contributed a chapter to a book about the Torrance Incubation Model of Teaching and Learning. Steele is creative director for design services and lecturer in fine arts at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn. Justin Arbuckle, Jarrett Carter, Jeremy Coleman, Eli Eck, Davis Thomas and William Walter received Boy Scout Joyful Servant Awards in a ceremony at the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Oklahoma City.
AWARDED: Dr. Lew Moore, chair of the marriage and family therapy department and director of counseling center at Harding University in Searcy, Ark., the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Louisiana Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Receiving distinguished service awards from Harding University are: Penny Hitt, Harding Academy; Morris Seawel, associate director of admissions; Robbie and Mona Shackelford, Harding University in Florence, Italy; and Elaine Wade, human resources. Ed Wilson, professor of chemistry at Harding University, the Outstanding Service Award by the Central Arkansas Section of the American Chemical Society.
