ADOPTION Forever Mom
Mary Ostyn. Forever Mom: What to Expect When You’re Adopting. Nashville, Tenn.: Nelson Books, 2014. 256 pages. $16.99.

Author and popular blogger Ostyne offers practical tips and spiritual guidance on the adoption process — including how to prepare your other children for new siblings and addressing behavior while remaining connected.

The Midwestern homeschooling mother has 10 children — six of whom are adopted from Ethiopia and South Korea. Her previous books tackle topics including cooking on a budget and raising a large family.
CURRENT AFFAIRS U-Turn
George Barna and David Barton. U-Turn: Restoring America to the Strength of its Roots . Lake Mary, Fla.: Frontline, 2014. 288 pages. $24.99.

American historian Barton and Christian statistician Barna bring together previously unpublished research, biblical instruction and the wisdom of the founding fathers to analyze the current moral and spiritual condition of Americans.

They also suggest a plan to “turn our nation around” by focusing on “the restoration of the family, the restoration of the Christian church,” and “the future activity of our government.”
