COMMENTARY

The Thrill of Hope

Bruce Green. The Thrill of Hope: A Commentary on Revelation . Bowie, Texas: Start2Finish Publishing, 2014. 222 pages. $12.99.

This guide to the final, often-misunderstood book in the New Testament attempts to simplify its key messages for today’s Christian.

Green, teaching minister for the 10th Street Church of Christ in Opelika, Ala., divides the book into seven parts and divides those into two- to three-page sections, each with three discussion questions.

EVANGELISM God’s Mystery

Stafford North.
God’s Mystery . Nashville, Tenn.: 21st Century Christian Publishing, 2014. 125 pages, $8.99.

North, longtime professor of Bible at Oklahoma Christian University, presents an overview of the Bible’s story of God’s reconciliation to man.

Each chapter includes a hymn and memory verse. Maps, timelines and photos appear throughout the book. Ten simple drawings help readers internalize the story of the Bible, to share it with others. A series of video sermons is forthcoming.
MEMOIR Mobility Matters

Amy L. Bovaird.
Mobility Matters: Stepping Out in Faith . St. Girard, Penn.: Amy L. Bovaird, 2014. 188 pages. $16.97.

After teaching abroad for much of her career, Bovaird learned she was going blind. When she returned to the States, she learned she was losing her hearing as well.

Undaunted, the graduate of Oklahoma Christian University and member of the Erie Church of Christ in Pennsylvania continues teaching and shares her story here.
ACADEMIC The Church According to Paul
