BIBLE STUDY
Mark W. Hamilton. On the Mountain With God: Freedom and Community in Exodus. Abilene, Texas: Leafwood, 2009. 135 pages. $11.04
Hamilton, who teaches Old Testament at Abilene Christian University, uses the book of Exodus to answer contemporary questions about God.
Each of the seven chapters takes up a set of passages from the book that explores one aspect of the divine being.
In addition to being a serious study of Exodus, the volume includes sometimes humorous “dialogues” between the author and the reader over an issue raised in the chapter. Boxes scattered throughout the book supply background information while questions at the end make the book useful for groups.
