Barry Raymond Shaver, 88, died Aug. 16, 2014, at Stone Oak Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. He was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Randolph County, Ark.
Ray was a successful jeweler and watchmaker for many years. He was a veteran of World War II and stayed active as a leader of the VFW honor guard. He was an active member of the Pyburn Street Church of Christ.

“Papaw,” “Pop,” “Uncle Ray” was a wonderful human being and loved by many. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed his friendships and loved being a member of the community.
He will be missed and cherished forever in the hearts of his family.
Mr. Shaver was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Dora, his loving wife, Vera, his siblings, Jewel Dean, Libla, and Ruby, and his son, Dave. He is survived by two grandsons, Rob and Rich Shaver, daughter-in-law Paula Shaver; niece, Sheila Wilson Glisson, nephews Don Wilson, Buel Ramsey, and L.A. Hayes, and their families.
