Member’s own experience inspires homeless ministry


Lee Collins, 58, pulls on a new jacket he received from Kelly Schaffer and the homeless ministry of the Route 230 church in Elizabethtown, Pa. The ministry distributes clothing and toiletries at the Market Square bus stand in nearby Harrisburg. “Kelly’s own experience of growing up poor … has given her a passion to touch the lives of the homeless and has energized her congregation, including the youth group, to provide supplies every week for the needy,” minister Danny Walker said.
