Global Samaritan Resources branches off from Healing Hands International

ABILENE, TEXAS — A new faith-based humanitarian aid organization known as Global Samaritan Resources has been established to collect and distribute medical supplies, food and other materials to poor, neglected and disaster-stricken people around the world.
The aid program, which actually made its first shipment of medical supplies to Honduras in 1999, will operate as an independent organization after being affiliated with Healing Hands International of Nashville, Tenn., for seven years.
The group has made about 50 shipments since 1999 of medicine, medical equipment and supplies, food, agricultural supplies and equipment, and educational materials to Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ghana, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Malawi, Nias, Nicaragua, Portugal, Swaziland, Uganda, Ukraine and Zambia.
Director of operations Ed Enzor said Global Samaritan Resources is “dedicated to demonstrating the compassion of Jesus to the poor and hurting people of the world.” Enzor and Randy Steger, president of Healing Hands, said the two groups still plan to work together as much as possible.
