Wanted: bus to take children to church

A Florida ministry is seeking a bus to help transport children.

Paula Harrington passes along this news:

A ministry in Miami is searching for a bus in hopes that more children can be transported to the Homestead Church of Christ to learn about Jesus.
Mike Hoots of the Jesus 4 Life ministry (J4L) says that around 100 people from ages 13 to 28 are affiliated with J4L including several AIM students (Adventures in Missions).
What started as a VBS on Wheels program that goes into neighborhoods and presents Bible lessons, songs, games and prayers has grown to numerous children wanting to attend Wednesday night Bible classes at the Homestead Church of Christ.
J4L currently transports children 4 to 13 years old from the VBS ministry via two church vans and several cars but always has to leave children behind due to not having enough room in the vehicles.
If your congregation would be willing to donate a church bus or help the ministry purchase a new or used bus, please contact Mike Hoots at [email protected] or at (305) 804-6168.

By the way, Harrington has an excellent blog post today on what she loves about the Church of Christ.

J4L is a fantastic ministry. I’ve visited this church on numerous occasions and I’m amazed by their outreach to kids. I’ve ridden in a 12 passenger van on Wednesday nights with 20+ kids piled in it. They could do SO much with a bus.

As a member of Homestead Church of Christ I’ve watched J4L change the Wednesday night regular attendance from 6 to over 60 young people. I’ve seen the lives of several teens transformed from dangerous wordly influence to active pursuit in the ways of the Lord. I’ve seen teen Christians discover methods of serving Christ within the community. Please help this ministry to increase their service in spreading Christ’s love and salvation throughout this community by securing a bus.
