Voices-only Wednesday: ‘The Woman of Samaria’ — Jamaican style

Yeah mon!

Are you ready for some a cappella singing with Caribbean flair?

Here are a couple of videos I filmed in Kingston, Jamaica, last year. These are members of the Mona Acappella Chorus who gathered for a night of praise and fellowship at the home of minister Gladwyn Kiddoe.

I was in Jamaica to feature the work of the Jamaica School of Preaching, which shares its facility with the Mona Church of Christ.

This first song is “The Woman of Samaria.” I guarantee this will tune will get stuck in your head — in the best possible way.

This next song, “Fearless,” features the vocal talents of Rachel Taitt, a native of the Caribbean island of Trinidad.

In addition to his work with the school of preaching, Kiddoe hosts a weekly radio program in Kingston. Here’s a quick, behind-the-scenes look at the show. (I was honored to be the guest. We talked about the growth of Christianity worldwide.)

Send us your selections for Voices-only Wednesday. Post your a cappella recordings to YouTube or Vimeo and send us the links. Or recommend your favorite videos in the comments section.
