Voices-only Wednesday: ‘The Greatest Commands’ and a plea to help find a missing woman
Welcome once again to Voices-only Wednesday.
This occasional online feature highlights the best a cappella videos that come across our eyes — and ears — on the web.
This week we bring you a video of more than 1,500 teens singing “The Greatest Commands” in the atrium of the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Ala., during Exposure Youth Camp.
The four-day Christian camp takes place during winter break and offers times of worship, spiritual challenges, entertainment and, of course, atrium singing.
And here’s a heartfelt rendition sung by the A Cappella Chorus at Rochester College in Rochester Hills, Mich., a college associated with Churches of Christ.
The students are singing on behalf of Sierra Shields, a flight attendant who, on Jan. 14, quit her job and left LaGuardia Airport in New York on foot, CBS reports. She hasn’t been seen since.
Shields’ father is an elder of a Church of Christ in Illinois and her brother is worship minister for the Rochester Church of Christ. Learn more at the Find Sierra Shields Facebook page.
This missing woman has long ties to Churches of Christ, and friends of her family asked us to help spread the word about her disappearance. #FindSierraNYC
