Welcome to Voices-only Wednesday, our weekly roundup of intriguing, unique and wonderful a cappella videos.
“But wait, it’s Thursday,” you say. “Shouldn’t this have appeared on Wednesday, April 1?”
Seriously, we were way too busy yesterday looking at the thousands of gag posts across the Internet to post anything of our own. (Though, had we done an “April Fools edition” of Voices-only Wednesday, it would have been this video.)
Instead, we were inspired by a snippet of “The Glory Land Way,” sung by a Church of Christ in Tennessee, heard in this report from National Public Radio. So went hunting.
First up, here’s a beautifully done version of the song from a Church of Christ in Springfield, Mo. See more videos from this group in an earlier “Voices-only” feature.
For a little bit of Caribbean flair, check out this version by Messengers Acapella Gospel in the South American capital of Georgetown, Guyana.
Finally, here are the Praise & Harmony singers — a project of the Acappella Company — singing the fastest version of “Glory Land” I’ve ever heard. Be uplifted — quickly!
