Voices-only Wednesday: ‘Ten Thousand Angels’ and 1.3 billion souls
Welcome to Voices-only Wednesday, when we scour the Internet to find a cappella videos of note.
Up first this week is the classic hymn “Ten Thousand Angels” by Ray Overholt. There’s a story floating around the Internet that Overholt was led to Christ as he wrote this song.
I’m not sure who produced this a cappella version of the hymn, and I’m not sure how I feel about the repetition of idealized images of Christ from paintings and film. The video is, however, interspersed with Bible verses from the life of Jesus.
Enjoy.
For something a bit more contemporary, here’s Acappella singing “Abba Father” in a video dedicated to all of the souls in China. That’s 1.357 billion souls, by the latest estimate
Send us your songs for Voices-only Wednesday. Post videos to YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook and send us the links. Or post suggestions for your favorite videos in the comments.
