Voices only: VBS music video edition
Welcome to Voices only, where we scour the web to…
It’s Vacation Bible School season, which increasingly seems to mean music videos. Here’s the latest from my home congregation, the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Oklahoma City. The theme for this year’s VBS is “Master of the Universe.” If you were a kid in the 1980s, you’ll catch the reference.
(I got excited when I saw this year’s logo, thinking that He-Man and Skeletor might make an appearance in the skits. But no such luck.)
The kids did get a taste of some classic rock, at least. Here’s an a cappella retelling of Jesus healing (and forgiving) a paralytic from the Gospel of Mark, chapter 2, to the tune of “Willy and the Poor Boys” by Credence Clearwater Revival.
VBS, meet CCR:
Speaking of classic rock, here’s a callback to last year’s VBS about Queen Esther, to the tune of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'”
See the full post from last year for more videos, including a Katy Perry tune (no foolin’).
Your turn. Send us your VBS videos. Post them to YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook and send us the links. Or post links in the comments below.
We also want to see your photos and hear your stories from this year’s VBS. Send us what you’ve got. Thanks!
