Our longtime fan faithfuls will remember that the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Oklahoma City (where I serve as a deacon) is a veritable factory of great Vacation Bible School videos, thanks to the musical talents of Erick (“my parents couldn’t decide between ‘c’ and ‘k'”) Alexander and the video talents of Andrew Patterson. Josh Kingcade, education minister, wrote the lyrics and storyboarded the video.
The 2018 VBS didn’t disappoint. Here’s “It’s God’s Will,” a retelling of the story of Joseph, starring a good chunk of the church’s ministry staff. Andy Lashley, involvement and communications minister, is Joseph. (Bonus points if you can name the song this is spoofing. Post your guesses below.)
If for no other reason, this is worth a watch for the cameo by Memorial Road elder and Oklahoma Christian University legend Stafford North.
(That’s Lashley’s real-life wife, Summer, trying to seduce him as Potiphar’s wife, by the way.)
