Voices-only: Sumphonia

Welcome to Voices-only.

This weekly online feature highlights the best a cappella videos that come across our eyes — and ears — on the web.

This video of Sumphonia was submitted to The Christian Chronicle. The hymns in this video are from the 5th Sumphonia CD, “I Was Glad.”

Sumphonia — which the group says is from the Greek word for music — is a nonprofit foundation that composes, publishes and promotes hymns for congregational worship. The foundation is also behind the hymnal “Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs.”

You can find more information on Sumphonia and the hymnal “Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs,” on their website www.Sumphonia.com.

Here’s one more song by the Sumphonia singers, “Lo! How a Rose E’er Blooming.”

Do you have a video you would like us to consider for an upcoming Voices-only post? We’d love to see it.

Post your a cappella recordings to YouTube and send us the links. Or recommend your favorite videos in the comments section.
