“Great is Thy Faithfulness” is a hymn written by Thomas Obadiah Chisholm with music composed by William M. Runyan. The song is based on the Old Testament’s book Lamentations, specifically 3:22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

For me, this hymn is a beautiful reminder that God keeps his promises. He is true to his word. He doesn’t change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8).
How amazing is to experience nature, the creation of God, proclaiming and witnessing the faithfulness and goodness of its creator. The summer, the winter, the sun and the moon witness this great faithfulness, love and mercy of the Lord God Almighty.

Our God is great, full of majesty and power! His love for us is amazing. It’s such a beautiful blessing to be loved by the creator of the heavens and the earth. His love is so deep, so wide, so big and so great! He loves each one of us with an eternal and unconditional love. He gives us “strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.” He is the source of true love, true hope and true grace that endures forever.

Let us sing of his steadfast love and his great faithfulness. Praise the name of our God, for in perfect faithfulness he has done wonderful things (Isaiah 25:1). Let us be witnesses of his love and faithfulness.
“Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures” (Psalm 119:90).
