Welcome to Voices only. This weekly online feature highlights the…
This weekly online feature highlights the best a cappella videos that come across our eyes — and ears — on the web.
It’s that time of year, school is back in session! In honor of everyone heading back to the classroom we are featuring a couple of videos of ensemble groups from different colleges.
First up, the group Best Friends from Lubbock Christian University. This video features last year’s group singing “That was then, this is now.”
Best Friends is an a cappella ensemble that operates from August to June. New members were just chosen a couple of weeks ago. They will have performances starting soon.
Next, the Ohio Valley University Express gets us ready for the holidays (Christmas is just 16 weeks away). This video is of the group singing “Joy to the World.” The specific arrangement of the song was done by OVU alumnus Matt Bortell, who is currently serving as the group’s director.
The OVU Express was formed in the early 70s. They were originally called “The Group.” They travel extensively throughout the summer and academic year promoting OVU at youth events, banquets, retreats, schools and camps.
Be sure to also check out the first Voices-only: Back-to-school (week one) post featuring songs from Lipscomb and York College.
Have a video you would like us to consider for an upcoming Voices-only post? We’d love to see it. Post your a cappella recordings to YouTube and send us the links. Or recommend your favorite videos in the comments section.
