Ukrainian Bible school graduates 12

Ukainian Bible Institute, a branch of Lubbock, Texas-based Sunset International Bible Institute, had a graduation May 24. There were 12 graduates this year. Jay Don Rodgers, the president of UBI, led the graduation ceremony. This graduation was a special one for him since his son Rhett was one of the graduates. By the way, this is the first time when a student from the USA took the complete course of education at one of the International branches.
Denny Sneed was the main speaker. He and his wife Linda Sneed has been working at UBI for 5 years. In July they are going back to the USA to continue their cooperation with Sunset, Lubbok.

“I’ve been at all the graduations of UBI. It means a lot to us …”, Sneed said. Also Denny conducted a small lesson on the book of Joshua, chapters 12-13.  He has encouraged the graduates not to stay at the level they have reached. He has encouraged them to conquer their Canaan and own it. The sisters under Linda Sneed’s leadership has sung beautiful Christian songs about ministry.

Igor Kashintsev was trusted to deliver speech on behalf of the students. He spoke about everyone going through the cross so that God can use him in the ministry. Alexander Naumenko was introducing the graduates at that party. He expressed gratefulness to all the ones due to whom that graduation took place. He has handed them a souvenir on behalf of the ex-students. 12 graduates, who will be scattered to preach the Gospel. It may be the last time for them all to be together on this earth. Missionaries and the graduates of the Institute from the previous years have attended that activity.

At the end of the ceremony everybody enjoyed the time of Christian fellowship at the holiday table. May the Lord bless these graduates for the fruitful work at His vineyard.

Dennis Lapin, minister for the church in the town of Shacktersk, in eastern Ukraine, filed this report for the Christian Chronicle. Lapin is editor of ‘Blagodat,’ a Russian-language newspaper for churches of Christ in Ukraine. Arusik Kasaryan, who works for the Blagovest and Libre Press ministries in Donetsk, Ukraine, assisted with translation.
