Tsunami orphans send money to Katrina victims
Rama Krishna, minister for the Fisherman church and the D.D. Colony church, both in seaside villages in Andra Pradesh, India, collected money for Hurricane Katrina relief from the 42 children at a children’s home. Many of the children are from the Prakasam district and were orphaned by the Dec. 26 tsunami.
Krishna also collected funds from local congregations, and sent 10,000Rupees (exchanged for $224) to White’s Ferry Road Relief Ministries,West Monroe, La.
Director Don Yelton said that the ministry assisted Krishna’scongregations in the aftermath of the tsunami. A few weeks after thisphoto was taken, India’s Andra Pradesh was slammed with heavy rainfalland flooding. Church members are administering aid.
