‘The church of the one way’ grows despite construction
In recent months, the Lake Harbour Drive Church of Christ in Ridgeland, Miss., has become “the church of the one way” — in a very real sense, minister John Pigg said.
Due to construction, “we’ve been limited to one door in the past two months — a single, 32-inch door to get in and out of,” Pigg told the Weekly Northside Sun.
Having the single entry point has also cut down on the number of latecomers to Sunday morning worship services. The door, located at the front of the sanctuary, is located to the left of the pulpit, meaning that members can’t slip in the back if they’re running a few minutes behind. “No one’s anonymous,” he said.
Lake Harbour has approximately 250 members, with 210 attending Sunday morning services. Sunday night boasts attendance figures of around 140, Pigg said.
