Television journalist Chellie Mills Ison joins The Christian Chronicle
“Have I seen you somewhere before? On TV maybe?”
Few of us who work for The Christian Chronicle get that question, but Chellie Ison has answered it at least once since starting here on Monday.
Chellie Mills Ison
Ison, better known to viewers in Oklahoma as Chellie Mills, joins us in the newly created position of Digital Media Reporter. The position is one of the first to focus entirely outside the realm of our print edition.
Ison will help us in our mission to inform, inspire and unite Churches of Christ around the world through our website and our social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Ison comes to the Chronicle with 11 years of television reporting experience and multiple awards, including an Emmy. Most recently, she worked as a reporter, anchor and producer for KFOR-TV, the NBC affiliate for Oklahoma City. On Sunday mornings she produced and anchored the station’s two-and-a-half-hour broadcast — and still managed to make it to second service at the Memorial Road Church of Christ. She and her husband, Nathan, are dedicated members of the congregation and active in several ministries, including Celebrate Recovery. She has a bachelor’s in broadcast journalism from Oklahoma State University.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chellie Ison to spearhead our online news delivery,” said Lynn McMillon, President and CEO of the Chronicle. “She represents our continuing commitment to improve and expand every aspect of the Chronicle’s electronic news delivery capacity. Chellie is a professional journalist with a strong background as a TV news anchor and reporter. She is a dedicated Christian wife and mother of two and a faithful church member. Go Chellie!”
