Teens from 12 states help with work camp
VIENNA, W.VA — The camp, which began in 1999 with 75 workers who scraped and painted homes, has grown to encompass hundreds of teens who work on dozens of houses.
This summer’s theme, “Ready, Set, Change,” was based on Acts 3:19.
Camp participants consist primarily of seventh- through 12th-graders and their counselors, who spend their days working on homes and evenings meeting at Ohio Valley University for devotionals and worship services. “We try to house everyone on the OVU campus and in the dorms,” Lombard said. “It offers a nice setting for the group to interact in the evenings and enjoy several meals together.”
