Tearful farewells — and hymns — in the midst of Ukraine’s crisis

In the midst of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, The Christian Chronicle is sifting through stories of tearful farewells, tense journeys, long border crossings and prayers for safety.

In this video, Alexander Rodichev, a member of a Church of Christ in Dnipro, Ukraine, leads a prayer before he, his family and a few others leave their homes. The church members headed west in hopes of finding safety there.

“I’m not gonna say ‘last one,'” he said of the prayer, “because I believe it’s not!”

Here’s a video posted by a church member from Kharkiv, Ukraine, of a group of Christians singing a hymn as they take shelter together.
