Students sing while taking shelter in a hallway at Bremen High School in Bremen

Students go viral after singing “Mary Did You Know” during tornado warning

A group of students found an interesting way to spend time while taking shelter during a tornado warning.

We saw this and decided it couldn’t wait until next Sunday.

So, we bring you a special Voices-only post on this Monday.

These high school students are getting a lot of attention for how they spent their time during a recent tornado warning. It was last Wednesday students at Bremen High School, in Bremen, Ga., found themselves taking shelter in the school hallways.

That’s when some members from the school chorus decided to practice for an upcoming concert. They began singing an a cappella version of “Mary Did You Know.” One of the teachers pulled out her phone and started recording. She posted this video on her Facebook page and it quickly spread.

The teacher who posted the video said, “
Who is afraid during a tornado watch/warning at BHS…not me because I’m reassured and reminded today that Mary’s baby boy has got this!”

After receiving a lot of attention, the chorus was later invited to perform another song on a local television station.
