Abilene, Texas, native John Lackey leads the Anaheim Angels to victory in Game 7 of the World Series Oct. 27. Lackey and his sister, Sarah, grew up in the Highland church, Abilene. He made his major league debut with the Angels June 24, and is the first rookie starter to win the seventh game of the World Series in 93 years. His parents, Derran and Sharon Lackey, were members of Highland for 30 years before moving to Dallas this year, said minister Mike Cope
