Spotlight: Church, school partner

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Levy Church of Christ accepted an invitation to partner with a neighborhood school — Ridge Road Elementary.

Members help teachers move into their classrooms, organize a “Watchdog Dad” program and serve as greeters when parents drop off children, minister Danny Dodd said.

Children’s minister Sherry Ratliff worked in the school system for years and is the driving force behind the partnership, Dodd said. “It has been an incredible experience, especially in light of all the restrictions now in place in public education,” he said. “It really is a God thing.”
