Spotlight: Changing lives behind bars

NAIROBI, Kenya — In this East African nation, prison officials yearn for someone to help offenders “learn to change their conduct — cursing, lying … stealing, sexual immorality, gambling,” longtime missionary Charlotte Hackett said.

She believes the New Life Behavior course is an answer.
The course uses the Bible “as the guide to teach desired changes in thinking, attitudes and behaviors,” she said, “to reconnect the disconnected to God, family and community.” Church members use the course during prison visits, which also include prayer time.
