The small Caribbean island, with a population of about 15,000, is a British Overseas Territory and part of the Lesser Antilles.
Hurricane Irma tore the roof from the building of a Church of Christ on the island of Anguilla.
Many buildings on the island, including the meeting place of a Church of Christ, were severely damaged by Hurricane Irma.
“Our brothers and sisters there have requested batteries, flashlights, weather radios and water filters,” Healing Hands reports.

About 230 miles west of Anguilla, the people of Puerto Rico are surveying damage and preparing for the long task of recovery after Hurricane Maria battered the island and destroyed the U.S. territory’s power grid.
