Pepperdine plans Rushford Center for Research on Churches of Christ

Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif., plans to establish the Jerry Rushford Center for Research on Churches of Christ and the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement.
A news release from Pepperdine says the center recognizes Rushford’s “extraordinary leadership and scholarship as a church historian.”

Within (the center), Jerry will oversee the work of the Churches of Christ Heritage Center he founded in 2009. He will also plan and host lecture programs and produce publications related to the history of the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement. The Rushford Center will be housed in Payson Library on Pepperdine’s Malibu campus.
The indefatigable spirit of Dr. Jerry Rushford has influenced the Pepperdine University Bible Lectures for three decades. This year, Jerry will depart his director post at the close of the Bible Lectures. On Friday evening, May 4, he will deliver the final keynote address entitled, “The Wondrous Story.” Following the Bible Lectures, Jerry will begin an exciting new ministry at Pepperdine.
Those who have attended Pepperdine’s Bible Lectures or have benefitted from Rushford’s inspired teaching or valued his friendship are invited to make a.gif?Action=thumbnail&Width=460&algorithm=proportionalt to Pepperdine to help launch the Center and create a commemorative program book which will be distributed at the Friday evening lecture.
