That shocking message, sent across a wire from India to the U.S. five decades ago, prompted minister Baxter Loe to launch Christian Relief Fund. The nonprofit feeds and educates children, drills water wells and responds to disasters around the world.

The ministry’s 50th year could be its most crucial, as the global pandemic creates new need.

By truck, bike or donkey, Christian Relief Fund delivers much-needed food to its sponsored children and their families.

This week I went in search of a good version of “Be Still and Know” — the one that goes “Be still and know that I am God.” In the midst of my normal weekly chaos, I tend to repeat that lyric to myself … a lot.
