New school to serve children in western Ghana
Ministers in Ateiku, Ghana, stand atop a nearly completed block of classrooms in late April. The structure will house a school that will serve Ateiku and surrounding villages, in the western part of this African country.
A shortage of funds has slowed construction, said Lawrence Oduro, minister for the Ateiku church, but church leaders are hopeful that the facility will be ready for the next academic year, which begins in September.
Oduro said that the school will provide biblically based education for local children and the children of ministers. “The standard of education in this country has fallen considerably, but this is worse in the rural areas of this country,” he said.
The Saturn Road church, Dallas, supports the work.
