Alan D. Cooper will take the reigns of NationsUniversity, an online source for Christian education, on March 1.
Founded in 1995, NationsUniversity, a church-supported program, enrolls more than 4,600 students around the world in online Bible and ministry courses. The program’s motto: “Building faith and training Christian leaders around the world through affordable, accesible higher education utilizing distance learning.”
In a news release, NationsUniversity gives more details about Cooper and the school’s work:
Cooper began his academic career at Sunset International Bible Institute and continued with the B.S. from Freed-Hardeman University, Harding University Graduate School of Religion, and Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies (M.W.S.). He is completing the Doctor of Worship Studies at the latter institution.
Cooper was previously director of International Outreach for the “One Nation Under God” project and professor for The Potter’s School, an online Christian high school, in addition to a career of local church work in the Mid-South, Washington, and Midlothian, Texas. Cooper and his wife, Lisa, have two sons, Nathan and Stephen.
NationsUniversity had its beginning in 1995 through the instrumentality of Dick Ady and Mac Lynn. The Louisiana-based school offers religious studies by distance learning only. With a current student body of over 4,600 students in 140 countries, the institution is dedicated to training students who have limited opportunity for higher studies. The school is working toward accreditation. Lynn will continue as chancellor.
