Mississippi church helps needy prepare for school

The Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis, Tenn., reports on a Mississippi church:
Twenty-seven-year-old Brandy Snyder of Walls had no idea how she was going to afford to buy school supplies this year for her two young sons — until Saturday.
From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers at Lake Forest Church of Christ at 6444 Goodman Road in Walls were handing out free school supplies to families who are facing financial hardships as part of the church’s annual “School Supply Store” event.
“This is amazing,” Snyder said. “The cost of school supplies has gone way up this year. I honestly don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for this.”
