Mission from Alaska to Mexico

A scene from the Valley Church of Christ’s mission trip to Mexico (bakersinleon.blogspot.com)
Pete and Tammie Baker wrote to tell about their church’s recent mission trip to Leon, Mexico. They had just read our story, “Border violence cancels more Mexico missions.” (We also dealt with this in a recent post about Mexico missions.)
It’s a long way from the Bakers’ home to Leon, where their son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Jazmin, work with a mission team. Pete and Tammie attend the Valley Church of Christ in Wasilla, Alaska. (The name of that small town may sound familiar because of its former mayor, Sarah Palin.)
The five-member team from the Valley church included the Bakers, Marti Taylor, Celestia Bowlus and Loren Hollingsworth. (That name was familiar to me. Loren served for more than 30 years as a missionary in Thailand.)
Ben Baker blogs about the mission team’s visit, during which Pete Baker baptized Ben’s mother-in-law. Ben and Jazmin also have an interesting story about their return to Leon for mission work.
Where are you going? Please let us know about your summer mission trips.
