Miami deacon dies in crash on way to church
NBC 6 in Miami reports:
One person is dead after a crash involving four cars in Southwest Miami-Dade, officials said.
Homicide investigators are looking into the crash that happened at about 9:41 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 29) at the intersection of Southwest 117th Avenue and Southwest 72nd Street, according to Miami-Dade Police.

Friends identified the man as 57-year-old Steve Davis, a deacon at Sunset Church of Christ.
“I know of no one that had greater faith than Steve,” said Sunset Church of Christ Elder Sherrill Hudson.
Hudson said Davis and his daughter, Katie, were on their way to 10 a.m. services when the crash happened. Davis’ wife stayed home because she was sick.
“The car flipped all the way over. Katie was smelling gasoline and felt like she needed to get out of the car because she was afraid,” Minister Jim Holway said.
Katie managed to crawl out of the mangled vehicle to safety, but for her father, it would be too late.
“We lost one of the real rocks of our congregation,” Hudson said.
