McMillon adds editor role to Chronicle duties


OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA — Lynn McMillon, president and CEO of The Christian Chronicle, has assumed the additional role of editor, succeeding Bailey McBride, who retired June 1. McMillon’s appointment follows a recent meeting of the newspaper’s national board of trustees, who set Chronicle policies.
“The trustees gave encouragement to move in this direction and so I amaccepting this role,” said McMillon, who served as Chronicle generalmanager for eight years before trustees appointed him president in 2004.
McBride, who will keep writing his monthly column with the honorary title of editor emeritus, praised McMillon’s selection.
“It has been my privilege to work with Lynn for 40 years,” McBridesaid. “I cannot imagine the Chronicle in the hands of a man who lovesthe church more than he does.”
McMillon is dean of the College of Biblical Studies at OklahomaChristian University, where he has served in faculty and administrativepositions for 40 years. An elder at the Memorial Road church, he andhis wife, Joy, a Chronicle associate editor, have been married for 43years. They have two sons and five grandchildren.
