Mary Winkler denied visitation
HUNTINGDON, TENN. — The parents of slain minister Matthew Winkler have succeeded — at least temporarily — in keeping their former daughter-in-law from visiting her daughters.
Dan Winkler, minister of the Huntingdon church, and his wife, Diane, have had custody of the three girls since Mary Winkler was arrested in March 2006.
She has been fighting for visitation with and custody of Patricia, 10, Allie, 8, and Brianna, 2, since August, when she was released after serving seven months for voluntary manslaughter.
The couple also has petitioned the court to terminate Mary Winkler’s rights and allow them to adopt their granddaughters.
Information about the custody battle will not be released without a judge’s order, a court spokeswoman said.
