Magiv Valley alumni plan 50-year reunion
MAGIC VALLEY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE, Albion, Idaho – A 50th anniversary celebration for the now-defunct college is planned from July 31 to Aug. 3 next year. All former students and staff members are invited to attend.
Magic Valley opened in fall 1958 in Albion on the campus of the old Idaho State College of Education. The initial 117 students included high school juniors and seniors and college freshmen and sophomores. MVCC continued to operate until spring 1969.
“During those years, very close relationships were formed among the students and staff, and many have maintained contact with each other,” said John Free, a former student. More information on the reunion is available from Joel Coppinger at [email protected].
West Virginia governor addresses students
OHIO VALLEY UNIVERSITY, Vienna, W.Va. – Ohio Valley welcomed West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin III recently for a special address before hundreds of students, faculty and special guests.
In his speech, Manchin addresses topics such as education, the future of West Virignia’s work force and the goals of his administration.
Ohio Valley President James Johnson presented the Democratic governor with a honorary doctor of letters degree.
