Louisiana governor honors veterans in ceremony at Church of Christ

The News-Star in Monroe, La., reports:

Gov. Bobby Jindal awarded 56 veterans with Louisiana Veterans’ Honor Medals at the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe on Monday.
Jindal was accompanied by Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Lane Carson and Maj. Gen. Bennett C. Landreneau of the Louisiana National Guard.
“We are forever grateful for the sacrifices of these brave men and women who have put themselves in harm’s way to protect the liberties and freedoms we enjoy everyday,” Jindal said. “These medals are a symbol of our deep respect for the sacrifice they have made for this country.”
