James Knight, Memorial
Having earned a bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian in 1962 and a master’s degree from University of Northern Colorado, Jim was a teacher for 32 years in Greeley, Colo., where he taught social studies, outdoor recreation, hunter education and coached golf. Jim’s other work experiences included construction and being a hunting and fishing guide.
Jim and Brenda were members of the Greeley Church of Christ where Jim was a deacon, elder and Bible class teacher for 40 years.
He served as one of the first elders for the Windsor Church of Christ for three years. When his children attended summer Bible camps, he served either as a teacher or director.
Jim and Brenda taught English using the Bible in Germany and to Chinese students at UNC in Greeley. They assisted with fundraising in Colorado for Eastern European Mission and taught “character” to university students in Volgograd, Russia.
Because of Jim’s love of sharing the Gospel, a scholarship has been established in his honor to assist students in the preparation of teaching God’s Word. If you wish to contribute, you may send your gift to Freed-Hardeman University, 158 E. Main St, Henderson, TN 38340, in honor of James A. Knight Memorial Scholarship for Bible Majors.
