In line for e-mail, Mwanza ministers
CHIPATA, ZAMBIA — As Internet cafes appear in cities across the African continent, an increasing number of Africans find themselves waiting in line for e-mail.
Minister Wellington Mwanza didn’t realize that while he was waiting, he was modeling Christ.
Mwanza, a minister in Kalomo, uses the Tikondane Internet Cafe in Chipata to send reports and answer e-mail. Occasionally, while waiting, he talks about his ministry – and the Bible.
Recently the owner of the cafe, a man named Tembo, asked Mwanza what made him different than the other customers. Mwanza asked Tembo what he meant, and the owner replied, “You appear uncorrupted.”
Mwanza studied with Tembo and gave him a DVD titled “Searching for the Truth.” On a recent visit to Chipata, Mwanza learned that Tembo had asked to be baptized.
“Thank God for the power of the gospel,” Mwanza said.
