“His legacy far exceeds what I’ve done.”

Gene Stallings, a fellow church member, talks about his son John Mark and the legacy he has left with all who knew him.

Our friends over at Spirituality in Sports recently sat down with Legendary University of Alabama Head Coach Gene Stallings, who is also a fellow church member.

In this particular video the coach discusses his son John Mark, known by many as “Johnny.” Johnny was born with Down syndrome. He was well-known and loved by those who knew and those who followed the public life of the Stallings family.

Johnny died in August 2008 due to a congenital heart condition.

In this interview, Coach Stallings talks specifically about the impact Johnny had on his life and the lives of those he met.

See more of Charles Babb’s interview with Gene Stallings at SpiritualityinSports.com, including Stallings’ thoughts on college football today, his legacy, sixty years of marriage to his beloved wife Ruth Ann, and his faith.
