Oklahoma Christian University has named two finalists to succeed Mike O’Neal as the university’s president: Allison Garrett and John deSteiguer.
Both are internal candidates. DeSteiguer is Oklahoma Christian’s senior vice president for advancement. Garrett is senior vice president for academic affairs.
O’Neal, the president since 2002, announced plans last year to step down at the end of the 2011-2012 academic year.
Two other universities associated with Churches of Christ — Harding University in Searcy, Ark., and Lubbock Christian University in Texas — are seeking new presidents.

I’m delighted to see John’s name as a finalist. John’s a great guy and I think he would be an incredible choice.
