Former Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice, ACU grad Jack Pope dies at 103
He was a longtime member of the University Avenue Church of Christ in Austin and former president of The Christian Chronicle’s National Council, an advisory body that preceded the newspaper’s current governing board.
Pope passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017, in Austin.
A Lone Star legend has passed.

According to the Abilene Reporter-News , Pope’s health had been declining in recent months and he had been placed under hospice care.

Funeral services for Justice Jack Pope are scheduled for 1 p.m. March 3 at the University Avenue Church of Christ, in Austin.
